Tags on client card – quick categorization of cooperation
Tags are one of the most effective ways to quickly organize your customer database. With them, you can instantly label a customer as “VIP,” “potential spammer,” or “technology partner.” Tags allow for rapid filtering of the customer list, significantly speeding up daily work.
Ways to add a tag
In Sugester, you can add a tag to the client card in two main ways:
Method 1: Quick addition from the card
If you are viewing the client card and want to quickly add a label:
- Click the three dots icon (“…”) in the upper right corner of the page.
- From the dropdown menu, select the Add tag option.
- A list of available tags will open – you can choose one of the existing tags or start typing the name of a new tag to create it.

Method 2: Editing the client card
You can also manage tags while editing the client’s data:
- Click the Edit button on the client card available under the button with three dots.
- Scroll down to the Tags section in the edit form.
- Enter the tag name and save the changes by clicking the Save button in the upper right corner of the form.

How to check the added tag?
After adding a tag, it will be clearly visible on the customer list and at the very top of the client card, just below the company name. This way, any employee who accesses this card will immediately see the most important label (e.g., “demanding” or “VIP”) without having to delve into details.
Why is it worth consistently tagging customers?
- Quick filtering: On the customer list, you can filter the database to display only those individuals who have a specific tag.
- Segmentation: It will be easier to plan marketing or sales actions if you have a well-tagged database (e.g., “partner-potential”).
- Common standard: If the entire team uses the same tags, internal communication within the company will become much clearer.
Searching by tags on the customer list
When using additional search conditions on the customer list, you have the option to filter records by the tags assigned to them.

An important issue when searching by more than one tag is how the system interprets this query:
- “OR” logic: If you enter or select two (or more) tags in the Tags field, the system will search for all customers who have at least one of them.
- Example: By entering the tags “shipment-January” and “premium-client,” you will see in the results list customers who have only the tag “shipment-January,” only “premium-client,” as well as those who have both tags at the same time. The system does not limit the results solely to records that possess all selected tags at once, allowing for broader searching of the customer database with similar characteristics.
Tip: Try to keep tags short and understandable for everyone on the team. If you notice that duplicates are starting to appear in the system (e.g., “client-VIP” and “clientVIP”), it is worth establishing a single naming convention and sticking to it when tagging subsequent cards.
