To handle email in Sugester, you need to create a mailbox. This article will guide you through the entire process step by step.
Creating a new mailbox
- Go to Settings → Email → Mailboxes (or type in the browser
/mail/mailboxes) - Click New mailbox
- Fill in the basic information:
- Name — the name displayed in the system (e.g., “Contact”, “Support”)

Email — the email address of the mailbox (e.g.,
kontakt@mojafirma.pl)
- Save
Verifying the mailbox
The mailbox must be verified before it can send emails. There are two ways:
Automatically (recommended) — if your domain (e.g., mojafirma.pl) is already added and verified in Settings → Domains, the mailbox will be verified immediately upon saving.
Manually — if the domain is not yet verified, the system will send a verification link to the mailbox’s email address. Click the link in the message to confirm access to this address.
Verifying the domain
If you do not yet have a verified domain:
- Go to Settings → Domains
- Click Add domain and enter the name (e.g.,
mojafirma.pl) - The system will generate a unique verification token
- Open the verification link from the server of that domain
- Done — the domain will be marked as verified, and all mailboxes on this domain will be automatically verified
Configuring email sending
Sugester can send emails in two ways:
Through EmailLabs (default)
This is the simplest option — it does not require technical configuration. Just ensure that your domain is authorized in EmailLabs (this is handled by the system administrator).
Through your own SMTP server
If you want to send emails directly from your mail server:
- In the mailbox settings, select Own SMTP server
- Fill in the details — server, port, username, and password
You can find the SMTP details in your email provider’s panel. Here are the most common configurations:

Important for Gmail: Google does not allow logging in with a regular password. You must generate an app password in your Google account settings (Security → App passwords). This is a one-time key used instead of a password.
Configuring email reception
Sugester does not connect directly to the mailbox (it does not use IMAP). Instead, it receives emails through forwarding — you set up automatic forwarding from your mailbox to a special address in Sugester.

Additional mailbox settings
In the mailbox settings, you can also configure:
- Signature — text automatically added at the end of each sent email (e.g., company details, confidentiality clause)
- Autoresponder — automatic reply to incoming messages (e.g., “Thank you for contacting us, we will respond within 24 hours”)
- Default recipient — the person or team to whom new messages in this mailbox are directed
- Assignment to a team — allows a group of people to manage one mailbox
