If your customers speak different languages, you can create separate knowledge bases for each language and link them into one group. This way, a language switcher with flags will appear in the public view, allowing quick access to the version in another language.
How multilingualism works
- Each language is a separate knowledge base (e.g. "Help PL", "Help EN", "Aide FR")
- Bases linked by the same multilingual code form a group
- A dropdown with flags appears in the public view — the user clicks the flag and goes to the appropriate language version
- Entries can also be linked between languages — then the switcher on the entry page leads directly to the translation
Step-by-step configuration
- Create knowledge bases for each language (e.g. Help PL, Help EN). You can have 2 or more language versions
- Set the language — in the settings of each base, select the appropriate language (pl, en, fr, es, de, cs, sk, uk)
- Link the bases — enter the same multilingual code (any text, e.g. "my-help") in the settings of each base. Bases with the same code will automatically link
- Done! — a switcher with flags will appear in the public view of each base

All three bases have the same code — they form a group. The switcher will show 3 flags.
Linking entries (translations)
Simply linking the bases makes the language switcher appear in the header. But for the switcher on the specific entry page to lead to its translation — you also need to link the entries themselves.
How to link entries:
- Open the entry in the admin panel
- In the Translations section, click Link translation
- Select the related base and indicate the corresponding entry in another language
Linked entries share a common multilingual code. When the user switches the language:
- If the translation exists — they will be taken directly to the translated article
- If the translation does not exist — they will go to the main page of the base in the selected language (with the label "no translation")
Privacy and visibility
Multilingualism works with privacy settings:
- Private base — if the base in a given language is private (e.g. version in preparation), its flag will not appear in the switcher for regular users. Administrators will see it marked as "private"
- Private entry (draft) — if the translation of an entry is marked as private/draft, it will not appear as a translation for users. Administrators will see it marked as "draft"
This way, you can prepare a new language version without worrying that users will see unfinished content.
